However, as layers of the mesh separate and travel through the body, their fragments can perforate or puncture organs, causing chronic pain, infections and even death.
Atrium Medical Corporation is facing 21 lawsuits in federal court, some arguing negligence since the company coated their mesh in Omega-3 oil.
